Piece of the Week

If I wasn’t already excited enough about the new s/s collection when the sun shines all day I can almost feel the summer upon us. The sun has certainly lifted everyone spirits and it almost blocks out the sound of the racing embroidery room whizzing out the new ski collection. I’m hoping to escape to the slopes of Saint Foy for a few days next month, so at the very least I can wear the collection in its entirety. Today however I’m sporting a beautiful Lavender HC gilet which brightened my walk in the winter sun with the dogs this morning. That is the thing I love most about our gilets they carry you through every situation. I haven’t taken mine off all day it has kept me warm and stylish from my morning walk through my meetings and working on the new collection. That is why the Holland Cooper Gilet has been nominated as piece of the week.

Let the cutting commence....

Today I will be offline as the production team and I begin hand cutting the new collection. This is an exciting part of the process where I first begin to see my designs transformed from all the sketches and pinned swatches into a finished garment. The designing is by no means over as I’m sure I will be making alterations and change as we go but that is all part of the fun of creating a Holland Cooper collection.

Toasty Team

After a busy morning of meetings I was amused to arrive in the studio this afternoon to a sea of pink, with much of the team sporting their Vintage Hoodies! They all must have been thinking the same thing this morning when they saw the frost outside; well you know what they say - great minds think alike!! The vintage hoodie is a favourite of the teams for its cosy but fashionable fit and bold embroidery design, although many have been snapped up by the HC team we do still have some hoodies available at just £69 to keep you toasty too.

Rain Rain Go Away

Whilst the rain pours down in Suffolk, I’m tucked up in the studio sketching pieces for the new collection and enjoying a hot chocolate with the team where I plan to stay put for the day. I hope some clients venture out in this downpour to visit us and kit themselves out with waterproof breeks to keep dry on the shooting field this weekend. Our breeks are now on sale with over £85 off!! Any clients stopping by will also be treated to a sneak peek at our new s/s tweeds which have just arrived.

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you have all had a great Christmas & here’s wishing you all the best for 2011!!!

The HC team are all now back in the studio after a well deserved Christmas break, and we are all getting rather excited about what awaits us in the year ahead.

Last year saw Holland Cooper reach new heights. We had a fabulous time at all our usual trade shows meeting new people and catching up with so many familiar faces, which is always a treat. Highlights from the shows include selling out of Prince of Wales Jackets at Badminton, the launch of Holland Cooper Brett at Polo in the Park, winning best trot up outfit with Laura Collett at Burghley, and of course our On Tour Hoodies!

As a designer I love change and was excited for the revamp of the Holland Cooper site in April last year. The new fresh site has proved very popular with customers and clients alike and has bought many fascinating ventures into our path. Namely our launch into selected boutiques across the country, I have enjoyed attending launch parties and witnessing the exclusively designed collections flying off the shelves.

2010 also saw Holland Cooper’s debut into living rooms nationwide with an appearance on Britain’s Next Top Model where we dressed models for their first shoot. We have also been spotted on reality tv show Come Dine With Me and Saturday nights prime time dating show Take me Out.

I feel overwhelmed at how far Holland Cooper has come in such a short time but don’t have much time to sit and reflect as we are already busy planning how to make 2011 even better!!

As I write this I sit amongst the freshly delivered 2011 tweeds, the formation of the new collection which has been pinned and unpinned with swatches til I find perfection and an excited, busy team brainstorming ideas and planning the year ahead……I already get goosebumps thinking about the launch of the new collection at Badminton, as revealing the collection is always my personal highlight.
